Gather Server Inventory
Server Inventory is the first step in using the X_FACTOR Toolset. The inventory tells X_Factor Data Collector which servers to collect data on. The servers may be inventoried in one of several ways.
- Discovery by Active Directory
- Discovery by IP Address Scanning
- Input by CSV (recommended if possible)
Once the inventory is complete, the application then can be set to collect utilization metrics on the inventoried systems. This may be run for a set duration of time depending on the computing dynamics of your business.
